CHARACTER ANALYSIS

Diana Frances Spencer, more famously known by her title of Princess Diana, has now been a ghost for 24 years. Despite her passing in a physical embodiment, she is well remembered today. Diana was one of the truest symbols of stereotypical European beauty. With her keen sense of fashion, she wowed others while still staying humble and true to her own style. Diana also struggled with many battles in life admits her very painful divorce matched with nosy press. Lastly, Diana maintained her high public profile to be the “people’s princess” to help others. Diana is very memorable for many reasons, but a visible and physical reason is in the way she dressed. Princess Diana, with her wedding dress for example, set unprecedented influence in the fashion world. The dress she wore – with its large, puffy sleeves, V-neck plunge accentuated by bunched up material and its full, gorgeous, bottom created a new style era. Princess Diana, “became a fashion icon during the 1980s”. Through her marriage to, “Charles, Prince of Wales, in 1981, her wedding dress designed by Elizabeth and David Emanuel set the trend for the decade: the meringue style” (Andersson, 1). With the simple contractual ceremony of a wedding, Princess Diana was able to create a new era in the fashion world, making her a fashion icon. It’s no surprise Diana was such a natural Princess, though. Her parent, while indirectly heirs to a throne, were still technically royalty. This was apparent in her early life and schooling as she was, “playmates (of) the queen’s younger sons, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward” (Encyclopedia Britannica). Her status of which she was born into proved her well throughout her more important roles as Princess as she led people with her vast influence.
